Influences: Jay-Z, Foxy Brown, Big Pun, Eminem
Who or what was the catalyst for you pursuing music? I love music and there was this gap to fill. Not just the gay gap but the 'different' gap. As far as rap goes, there are these tight restrictions. You have to be like this, look like this and say that. Most of those restrictions don't apply to me. I was interested in molding my own approach to the shit.
Who are the artist or people in the industry you admire and why? I admire Jay-Z because the way he shaped his career seemed very much like his own doing. That's not to say that he's a one man show; there's a difference between helping and directing. I think directing is where you can look at the artist's career and say "ok, the exec told them to sing this, say that, wear this, do that, etc." I feel like Jay directed his career, because you can see in the early part he wasn't poppin like that. Once he got his stride, he just manhandled the game over and over again. I admire that.
Who do you most look forward to working with? I haven't set up anything with anyone at this point. There's some people I would like to work with - I want to mush together rap with another genre that I really like. There's a producer who does that type of music... I would like to link with him.
What are you currently working on? I'm currently working on my third release entitled "The Campaign Vol. 1: Charm" ... or "Charm" for short. I've been going hard at that project for a while now and I'm looking to wrap it up pretty soon. I'm looking forward to putting that out and getting the response. It is the best piece of work I've put together thus far.
